Multiple teams have collaborated with Dell Children’s Healthcare Center to produce some important research on mobile communication in hospitals, workplace wellness programs, and stress and burnout in healthcare. Two amazing graduate students have been an integral part of these teams: Millie Harrison and Yaguang Zhu (Ph.D., 2018).
Our research team studied the implementation of a HIPAA-compliant mobile text message app. We published this research at HICSS in 2017, but our team also received the top paper in the Mobile Communication Division of the International Communication Association Conference.
Millie Harrison and Keri Stephens have worked on a number of healthcare-communication projects, and their Oxford Encyclopedia chapter on work and wellness offers a more global perspective on what employers offer to keep their employees healthy.
