Professional Sales & Business Development Minor

We are proud to announce the University of Texas at Austin is now offering a new minor in Professional Sales & Business Development. Dr. Keri Stephens has been teaching Communicating to Build Sales Relationships for over 15 years at UT Austin, and she worked side by side with other UT faculty and students to create this top of the line minor. This minor is one of a kind and opens many doors for one’s career. 

This minor bridges the gap between communication and business with the joint efforts of Moody College of Communications and Red McCombs School of Business. This minor is available to all majors at the University of Texas at Austin. This is a great opportunity for interested students, no matter their field of work or industry. Every business needs people who can sell products, ideas, or services, to help the business flourish and grow. Therefore, every career can be enhanced with sales skills. 

The Professional Sales & Business Development Minor helps students gain powerful resources and academic credentials which allow them to pursue sales-related careers. Sales skills such as persuasion, finding solutions, analytics, and effective communication are taught in the course work. Additionally, students will better understand and know how to fill the role of professional selling in marketing, business, and related organizations.
